Creative Tools

  • Record vocals, acoustic instruments and line-level equipment through the two microphone/line inputs, with +48 V phantom power available for condenser microphones.
  • Use compatible Unison preamp plug-ins to change the input impedance and gain behaviour of the preamps, bringing the response and tonal character of modelled analogue equipment into the recording process.
  • Connect a guitar or bass directly to the front-panel Hi-Z input and develop recording tones with compatible amplifier and pedal emulations.
  • Build real-time recording and monitoring chains using four onboard DSP cores. Available processing capacity depends on the selected UAD plug-ins and sample rate.
  • Shape vocals and instruments with the Analog Classics bundle, combining tube preamp colour, compression and equalisation before adding tape character, echo or plate reverb.
  • Use Auto-Gain in UAD Console to help establish recording levels, and recall Plug-In Scenes when switching between performers or recording tasks.
  • Expand the input count through the optical connection using a compatible ADAT preamp or S/PDIF source, allowing additional microphones and instruments to join the session.
  • Compare mixes through alternate speakers and communicate with performers using the integrated talkback microphone.
  • Refine monitor or headphone playback with Apollo Monitor Correction when paired with the required Sonarworks SoundID Reference software and compatible calibration equipment.
  • Combine onboard UAD processing with native software running on the computer to balance tracking requirements and larger mixing sessions.
